Tea Tree Essential Oil, Ecocert Organic, 5 ml.

$11.30

Origin:  Australia

Tea Tree, is a very powerful antiseptic and insect repellent that also has significant antifungal properties.  However, because of its strength and contraindications for internal use, most people should probably start by using a safer oil like cinnamon bark or clove bud essential oil.

Tea Tree Essential Oil is generally effective at very low concentrations on external skin conditions such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, and fungal nail infections. It can also be used as a suppository for vaginal yeast conditions.  When used with a carrier oil such as almond, black seed, or olive oil, a 1-2% dilution is usually sufficient.

To calculate the percentage, think of one 5 ml. bottle as containing roughly 100 drops.  This means that if one takes an ounce (30 ml.) of carrier oil, only 6-12 drops of essential oil should be used.  Essential oils can also be added to shampoo, but only 8-12 drops should be added to an 8 ounce bottle of shampoo.

Though the first reaction can be intense, tea tree oil is analgesic and sedative. Some people use it for old infections and scars relating to acne, chicken pox, herpes, and ringworm.

Though offered here primarily as support for Candida albicans, tea tree oil is said to aid recovery from heart attacks and it is sometimes used internally, in very small amounts, for  urinary tract irritations.  When used in this way, it will also promote the flow of urine.

Tea tree oil is a mood elevator and therefore helps combat both fatigue and depression. It combines well with cinnamon, eucalyptus, lemon, and peppermint.

Please note:  We offer a variety of bar soaps containing tea tree oil. We also have liquid hand soaps, vaginal suppositories, and disinfectants containing  tea tree oil.

Contains: Steam distilled leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia leaves.
