Lime Essential Oil, Ecocert Organic, 5 ml.

$6.80

Origin:  India

For some people, their nutritional education began with the revelation that scurvy could be cured with limes, hence the slang for British sailors:  limey.

Besides being a source of antioxidants, limes are aromatic and refreshing.  They are also cleansing and deodorizing. Limes are  decongesting and help relieve respiratory congestion. Try putting a few drop in hot water, covering your head with a towel and hovering over the fragrant steam for a few minutes.

Limes have anticoagulant properties and increase urinary output. Added to a beverage or salad dressing, limes aid the liver and digestion and relieve stomach cramps and flatulence. Lime oil can also be added to oils used for swishing or for rinsing the mouth.

Being zesty, lime oil is often used for aura cleansing.  It can be inhaled, misted, diffused, or blended with other oils.

It blends nicely with Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, and other citrus oils.

Contains: Cold pressed peels of Ecocert organic fresh Citrus aurantifolia.

Warning:  Cold pressed peels of lime are phototoxic. This means that for use on the skin, the maximum strength would be 0.7%. To be on the safe side, avoid UV light after application to the skin. This includes staying out of direct sunlight for 24 hours.  Please note that this warning is specific for cold pressed lime peels and does not apply to steam distilled peels.  Both types of lime essential oil are usually offered on this site.
