This is Ingrid’s formula, developed over the course of several years. The first goal was to prevent scarring, especially after use of escharotic treatments. The reason was less aesthetic than protective because her observation was that cancer tends to recur in the scar tissue, from biopsies, surgery, and use of bloodroot pastes. The second goal was to inhibit cancer by promoting extremely healthy tissue and using herbs with known anti-tumoral properties. Use of this elegant ointment is not restricted to the situations mentioned. Feathered Turtle can be used as a skin balm or cosmetic or on any scar. It goes without saying that larger scars and older scars may take longer to resolve.
The main ingredient in this formula is helichrysum, also known as “Immortal” because the fragrance remains for years after the flowers are cut. This is in a base of tamanu oil, the oil used on leprosy treatment by French doctors in the South Pacific. All of the ingredients have been very carefully sourced and are produced by a true master!
